Publisher policies
What a site in the Dokira network may and may not do.
Part of the AGB. Advertisers and demand partners, including Google, buy from Dokira on the understanding that every site meets these rules. A breach can cost the whole network its demand, so Dokira may pause a site straight away.
Content
Sites, and the pages ads appear on, must not contain or link prominently to:
- illegal content, or content that promotes illegal activity;
- sexually explicit material or nudity;
- content that incites hatred, violence or discrimination, harasses individuals, or glorifies self-harm;
- content that infringes copyright or trademarks, including pirated software, films or music;
- malware, phishing, or deceptive downloads;
- misleading content, such as fabricated news, fake endorsements or health claims without basis;
- sale of weapons, drugs, tobacco or counterfeit goods;
- gambling, unless licensed where it is offered and agreed with Dokira in advance.
Ads must not be placed on pages with little or no content of their own, such as error, login, thank-you or pure link pages.
Traffic
- No automated traffic: no bots, crawlers posing as visitors, or traffic exchanges.
- No clicking your own ads, and no asking, paying or rewarding anyone to view or click ads.
- No buying traffic from sources that cannot show it consists of real, attentive visitors. Paid traffic is allowed only from reputable sources, with the source disclosed to Dokira on request.
- No reloading pages or ads to increase impressions, beyond what the Dokira tag does itself.
- No hiding ads, stacking them on top of each other, or loading them in invisible frames.
Implementation
- Use the tag exactly as Dokira supplies it, and do not copy it to sites that are not in your account.
- Keep Dokira's lines in your ads.txt file up to date.
- Do not place other sticky or corner ads where they overlap Dokira's footer or corner ad; if you use AdSense Auto ads, turn off its anchor ads when you use Dokira's footer.
- Do not design content to look like ads, or ads to look like content, and do not label ads in a misleading way.
- Keep total ad density within the Better Ads Standards; Dokira's formats are sized to stay within them.
- Do not pass personal data such as names or email addresses to Dokira in page addresses or ad requests.
Privacy and consent
- Your privacy notice mentions the advertising and links to Dokira's privacy notice for advertising.
- Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland must be asked for consent through an IAB TCF certified consent banner before ads are personalised. If your site has none, Dokira's tag provides one.
- Sites directed at children under 16 are not accepted.
What happens on a breach
Dokira may pause ads on the affected site or page, withhold revenue linked to the breach, and, for serious or repeated breaches, terminate the contract under the AGB. Where a demand partner deducts revenue because of the breach, the deduction is passed on to the publisher.
